I agree that going into the editor can change the game, reduce some of the challenge etc.. But so can playing with scouting at 100% accuracy, TCR at 0, injury frequency at low, rating ranges at 20-80, etc...

Going into the editor to where you know the abilities of all the players is definitely giving yourself an advantage. If you need an advantage over the AI, that's fine, all I said is I wouldn't recognize it as legitimate if you posted it. Most that would post it would be bragging.. I'm sure you see where I'm coming from.
By all means, play it your way, but if you were meant to see the pure ratings, they would be in open view. Giving yourself knowledge of those ratings is tantamount to cheating in my book.
But I'm not the OOTP police, I was just stating my opinion.
