Dave Lowery
Dave Lowery made a rather bizarre appearance as a NRI in the Minnesota Twins' camp in 1966 in that he came directly from playing baseball in South Africa. His home was in Johannesburg. As a pitcher, he had always thrown from a flat surface, and never from a mound. The Twins sent him to Orlando for the 1966 season, and that was the only year he spent in the US minor leagues. His record with the Orlando Twins was 12-13 with a 2.64 ERA.
