I love, love, love watching knuckleballers pitch.
I think it was
this game, but my father and I were at Candlestick park, Giants vs Marlins. We got there a little early, and we were sitting near the Marlin's bull pen. 46 year old Charlie Hough was standing on one of the bull-pen mounds, smoking a cigarette. He puts his arms over his head and stretches left and right.
My dad turns to me and says, "I'm glad to see Charlie Hough still around baseball. He must be a great coach, because he was a heck of a ballplayer."
Me: "He's the Marlin's starting pitcher tonight."
