I go back and forth between "average" and "hard" a lot. Sometimes I'll set up a deal on "average" (it's a little easier to figure out who the AI will actually consider trading) but think it looks a little lopsided and force myself to close it on "hard."
Sometimes even then, the deal still works as-is...
