Sometimes things that seem like simple fixes are complex, for various reasons that are beyond my non-programming understanding of the game. (I learned BASIC on a TI computer in 1983. Does that count?)
And sometimes things that seem complex are easy to implement, again, for reasons that are beyond me.
Usually with things like this that have knocked around for a while, Markus is aware of the issue and hasn't been able to address it because of the amount of work involved vs. how often it pops up. However, since he now has Matt working with him, this is the kind of thing he could offload to a second programmer while he works on something else.
So, hopefully these kinds of things will get cleared off the to-do list quicker than in the past.
Again, though, since I'm not a programmer, please don't take this as a promise that this particular issue will be fixed within a certain timeframe. I don't know what their priorities are right now.
