Guillermo Velasquez error???

This 1992 Bowman card (no 698) has puzzled me for quite some time. On both front and back, the player is identified as Guillermo Velasquez. But he surely does not look like Velasquez (or am I getting too old...). I checked Beckett Almanac (2014 Ed.) and Lemke's 2007 Standard catalog....Both list him as Velasquez too. I searched the net...still the same...no mention of an error. Velasquez was a lefthanded hitter, while the player pictured seems to hit righthanded. I've added other cards of the real Velasquez ('93 Topps, '93 Donruss and '94 Stadium Club) and cinemaodyssey also posted him on this thread (http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post3324820) ...clearly not the same guy. The best resemblance I could find (really not sure about it) for this player, is Thomas Howard (Padres 1990-92), who was a switch-hitter. Topps Vault has this picture in its GE folder, number 789...in a V alphabetical series.
If I am right about this card, it amazes me that both Beckett and Lemke have not come up with the error...23 years after the initial printing!
