The inaugural season of the Metropolitan League has now reached the halfway point, as every team apart from the Old Westminsters and Angel Islington have played fifteen games.
League leaders Marylebone suffered a shock defeat today at the hands of Angel, falling behind in the opening inning and going down to a heavy 8-1 loss. City of London failed to take advantage though, as despite coming back from 5-2 behind to force extra innings they were beaten 7-6 by the Old Westminsters in a record-equalling 15 inning game.
In the battle of the teams in the middle of the standings, Kensington shut out Clapham Common 3-0 to finish the first half of the season with a winning record.
