I don't know if this has been discussed previously, but can a pitcher be switched to a position player? I have a pitcher who is horrible at pitching and I also needed another bat to fill out my lineup in single A. He is learning LF. For this season in Single A, the pitcher is hitting over .400 and is 2nd on the team in HRs.

Is it possible for a pitcher to learn a position and go from a pitcher to position player? If so, has this been done before?
