I've come to understand that there are small but dedicated group of collectors who are drawn to photos such as this one like catnip.
A Lexibell folder unveils a shot from the Cleveland Indians' 1958 spring training camp where former MVP Al Rosen, a badly broken finger newly healed, shows off his grip to pitcher Duane Pillette. The back of the photo indicates that Pillette, whose final big league season would wind up being 1956, was with the Indians on a "look-see" basis. They did not like what they saw, as Pillette spent the '58 season split between the Reds and Cubs' AAA teams. He never pitched for the Indians, majors or minors.
