Duane Pillette pitched the last game in St. Louis Browns' history.
On Sept. 27, 1953 in St. Louis Pillette and the White Sox' star lefty Billy Pierce both had shutouts through nine innings. The game was decided in the top of the 12th on a two-run double by Minnie Minoso with each hurler going the distance.
