Let me ask this, did you uncheck the box for automatically import historical rookies during your trip through the historical setup wizard? If so, then that's your problem. I play tons of random debut, but I know I've never fooled with the import historical rookies box, so if it's checked on by default, it needs to be checked on to get real players. Hope that makes sense. I'm at work, so can't see my game.
