Growing up in San Francisco, I remember the excitement of the Giants moving here from New York. Living within just two blocks of Seals Stadium I was fortunate enough to spend the summer "hanging out" at the ballpark. One of the joys from this period was playing catch with the likes of Jim Davenport, Daryl Spencer, Hobie Landrith, Don Taussig, and Jackie Brandt from both inside and outside the stadium. All the players were so approachable in those days and a living dream for an 11 year old fan. Davenport and Hank Sauer even came to our Little League practice and gave us tips on hitting and fielding. You just don't see that occurring anymore.
