Remember this annoying Flexichrome, BC2522, which no one could quite ID. It might be Jay Hook, was the best I recall from our posts last year.
Here is a Lexibell image find of Hal Jeffcoat, with April, 1959, on the back. It so close to the flexichrome, we can at least assure the former was originally done in April, 1959, as well.
There were eight right-handers with the Reds in '59: Purkey, Hook, Pena, Brosnan, Schmidt, Acker, Mabe and Jeffcoat. Jeffcoat was traded for Brosnan in June. Hook began the year in the minors, plus he wore No. 47.
Taking the leap of faith that the partial number is the actual game jersey, it would seem to eliminate Purkey (37), Schmidt (44), Mabe (35) and it certainly doesn't resemble Pena, who has several other photos from the era.
That leaves the liklihood that the flexichrome is Tom Acker (40) or Jeffcoat (42), but Jeffcoat's socks don't match.
