This is not gratuitous criticism
I'm not following the logic here. You were sure because you really wanted it to be Chiti and you ignored all the clues, and made up new ones, to fit your conclusion. This doesn't help anybody here, nor does the martyrdom.
The alphabetical sequence was Chaney, Chamberlain, Chalk, Chadwick, ----, Cash. Where does "Chiti" fit in there? If it's the sequence you relied on, the name has alphabetically to go between Cash and Chadwick. If it's the Yankee image that convinced you, you can clearly see the number 17 on his back - worn by Enos Slaughter from August, 1956 into September, 1959. If it's the fact Chiti was Yankee property in 1957 then there should be some reference to it online, to explain how he played in 120 games in AAA and yet showed up at Yankee Stadium as "a bullpen catcher" - even though the Yankees already had one of those named Darrell Johnson who spent the whole season there. And as mentioned earlier, St. Petersburg is an impossible location for a Chiti/Mets photo.
This may seem like trivial nitpicking to you, but the misidentification of photos leaks into google searches and the next thing you know a search for Chiti with the Mets turns up Bob Cerv, creating a mess that could take who knows how long to correct.
The irony to this is that the Cerv/Mets image is a far scarcer, far greater find than Chiti/Mets. Cerv only wore that uniform for a month or less at a time when there were no spring training photo days nor photographers blanketing the camps.
