Bob Hendley 1961
All joking aside about insane bidding for the next four images of the man who one-hit the Dodgers the night Sandy Koufax threw a perfect game, this image deserves some explanation.
That's not a Met cap with the logo airbrushed off. You see this unexpectedly frequently in the Topps archives. For whatever reason, the Mets, Phillies, and a few other teams had their spring invitees and/or AAA players wear generic caps (I've seen a Denny Doyle this way, and a couple of Mets besides Hendley; the full shot of Jack DiLauro on his 1970 card is like this Hendley image). I believe all the Mets were taken in 1969.
Curiously, the Dodgers did this in reverse. There's a bunch of 1969 images of Spokane players (Fred Norman, for instance - and the photo made it on to his 1970 card) wearing Spokane shirts and Dodger caps.
