As you likely know, Sammy Ellis passed away a few weeks ago. I was checking eBay for images of him with the White Sox and Angels (per a request) and came across this image of Sammy with the 1962 Padres of the PCL. I recognize that most of the efforts in this thread are to document the undocumented--players who didn't reach the majors or did so very briefly--but I love seeing the old stars in minor league duds--especially in photos as clear as this one.
