Your league is fun and entertaining and my suggestion is you keep it that way.
Have things set up that any players who were drafted or volunteered were keep in safe remote rear areas.
Maybe some worked as a quartermaster, maybe some delivered or sorted the mail, maybe some were mechanics, maybe some were put on military baseball teams as players, maybe some were put on military baseball teams as managers, etc.
They already lost service time in Braeland. They don't need to pay the ultimate price by giving up their lives or being wounded.
Keep things moving and fun.
