Far Too Many Hit Batsmen

In my test leagues to replay the Southern Association, the HBP totals were outrageously high... should have been 300 per year... but I got 1200 per season.

The league totals only had 300 listed.

Gave up creating the replay of the league because of this.

Anyone know what caused it?

I checked all of the pitchers to see what their HBP ratings were... they ranged from 1 to 11 per 550 batters.

I lowered them to 1 to 3 on all pitchers and still got the same 1200 for the league.

League Fielding was also quite high for 1947... .982 FA.

Apparently OOTPB doesn't match fielding averages with the historical year... I read that this has been a problem... fielding average is not year specific, but just generic.

I did manage to lower it to .968 FA by doubling the position modifiers from 1.000 to 2.000.

2.000 resulted in a .965 FA... 1.900 was .968 FA.
