Second baseman fielded the ball, and then suddenly it shoots out to deep left field. The runner from first slows to a crawl while no one in particular goes to get the ball out past the left field wall. But, all of a sudden, the ball is coming back to the infield in what looks like a sky-high lob back to second. The ball hangs up in the air forever (like a massive popup), and falls into the shortstop's mitt just before the snail-man from first slides into second base. It was just totally inexplicable.
