Just to followup on my above post. After figuring out the error of my ways, I decided to take my current 1906 historical and sim it ahead to 1919, turning on maintain historical minors at the beginning of the 1918 season.
Well folks, it worked great. Texas League formed just like it should. All the teams are well stocked with players. Maybe a little overstocked in the case of the MLB teams,(example the Boston Braves have 82 players on their reserve roster) but when the PCL forms that should thin out some. I didn't check to see if the guys in the Texas League are the guys that were in the Texas League in 1919. I'm just happy to see full rosters.
At this point, I'm so full of crow, I have feathers coming out my ears.
I think next time I will opt for the humble pie instead.
