Fregosi's Later Jokes

As referenced above: Fregosi not only did the lefty shortstop thing in '64 or '65, but he nearly pulled it off in 1966 - and he did pull off the wrong-way batter trick - and all in one shoot!

This is from the day in 1966 that Topps' guy was in Cleveland for whatever reason and shot the Angels and Indians (there also Municipal Stadium shots of the Indians and Twins from 1965). The images populate the '67, '68, and '69 sets (Minnie Rojas, Bobby Knoop, Jose Cardenal, etc).

Fregosi was a right-handed batter, but this lefty pose got past the editors in the 1967 set. And the "1969 Topps Super Baseball" card of Fregosi was the odd head-and-shoulders cropping because the original (shown in the proof on the right) was the glove-on-the-wrong hand trick.

This was one day's work for prankster Jim.
