Shoni Sguborfawr (Johnny Big Barn) born John Jones in 1811 or 1810
Merthyr hardman became a prize-fighter. Possibly "Emperor of China" the tough district of Merthyr. When the Taff Vale Railway was opened to Merthyr in 1840 , it was celebrated by a bare-fist encounter between "Shoni" and John Nash, railman, the champion of Cyfarthfa
Rebecca rioter was tried and in 1844 transported to Norfolk Island. In 1847 was transfered to Tasmania. Conditionally pardoned 1858-04-20 and died later that year.
1835 - 1843 estimated as career dates since he wa a known tough in "CHina" prior to age 30
