Catcher Bill Lachemann is the brother of major leaguers Rene and Marcel. He is best known as a coach for the California Angels in 1994 and 1995.
He made an appearance as a non-roster invitee player with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1959. An article in the L.A. Times on March 1, 1959 indicated that he would be in the starting lineup that day for the Dodgers' first intrasquad game of the spring training season. He was due to face the likes of Ron Fairly, Carl Furillo, Frank Howard, and Johnny Podres on the opposing side.
This photo comes from The Oregon Statesman (Salem, OR) of June 26, 1961. It shows him in the uniform of the Salem Dodgers.
