Nats Put Oakland on the Ropes After Taking 3-0 Series Lead
October 24, 2016
The Washington Nationals are on the precipice of history after jumping out to a 3-0 series lead. Pitching has been the story for the Nationals. They shut out Oakland in Games 1 & 2 by scores of 3-0 and 1-0 behind strong pitching performances by Stephen Strasburg and Lucas Giolito. They finally allowed a pair of runs in Game 3, but were still able to take Game 3 by the score of 5-2.
The Nationals will send Stephen Strasburg out to the mound for game 4. If he fails, they will have three other chances to close out the series. However with no offense at all, it looks like the A's magical run is coming to a close.
