After getting 4 extra base hits in our first three games, our hitters found the range against Port Dripander. Odell Mowday had 3 doubles by himself. Cullie Kronholm again had a strong outing. I think we have a good chance to win every time he takes the mound. I was hoping this was the beginning of the end of our offensive doldrums.

Game two was reminiscent of how the season began, very tightly played. Della Pietro was able to go a bit longer than his prior start, giving me hope he can be a solid 2/3 starter over the course of the season.
I was feeling ok with turning the game over the bullpen, they had been fairly solid so far. Layton Leitzel got his 4 players with no issues. J. T. Peden wasn’t as effective. A leadoff double to Mike Shawver proved too tricky to overcome. I was disappointed, but not surprised, when Shawver eventually scored on a sac fly. But Peden followed with a wild pitch and a line drive single to drop the game. Our margin for error seems to be very narrow.

The rubber game was another mix of frustrating and encouraging. Reek Bossie was supposed to start, but wasn’t rested enough to go. Cameron Mendenwaldt was dropped in and did a serviceable job, but wildness and defensive let downs put us behind the 8-ball.
Our offensive frustrations continue: 10 hits and only 2 runs. I was buoyed by Kade Uhl getting 3 hits, pulling his average from .111 to .227.
