I'll try to find a list to compare it to. The number of injuries probably isn't excessive, but the severity is. I didn't see very many short term injuries when looking through the injuries.
Here's another update in may: Perron out 5 months with a fractured skull, Stamkos out three months with a torn hamstring (right after being out three weeks), Phaneuf out three months with a torn finger tendon, Kopitar out five weeks with strained triceps, Tomas Jurco out eight months with a ruptured disk, Ehrhoff out seven months with a fractured hip, Cody Eakin out seven months with a broken elbow, Mike McCarron out 9 months with a torn ACL, Ian Cole out 8 months with a broken knee.
