Vern Handrahan passed away
Tuesday (November 2, 2016) at the age of 79. Signed by the Braves in 1959, the hurler saw action with the Kansas City A's in 1963 and 1966. His biggest claim to fame was becoming only the third major leaguer from Prince Edward Island (the other two players from P.E.I. played in the 1800s) and the first inductee into the P.E.I. Sports Hall of Fame. He pitched through 1970 and, later, worked as a scout for the Expos. The Vault provides some good images which have previously been posted
