After a scoreless 1st period with the shots on goal tied 9-9, the Habs dominated the first half of the 2nd period but despite the one sided play it was the Hurricanes that struck with a goal by
Patrick O'Connor. He added a second later in the period late to send the Canes to a 2-0 lead after two.
Chris Hughes finally put the Habs on the board on their 30th shot 6 minutes into the 3rd, but it was not enough as the Habs out shot the Canes 34-22 but
David Rice held them at bay.
Patrick O'Connor was named the games 1st star with his 2 goals.
