Montreal Canadiens (16-13-1) at St Louis Blues (16-9-4)

Montreal heads to the Scottrade Center to face the 6th place in the Western Conference St Louis Blues. The Habs will still be without RD Matej Ouhrabka as the 24 year old recovers from a finger injury.

The Blues are 9-2-3 at home and are on a 5 game win streak. The Blues to players this season are.....

G Antonio Rios. The 28 year old has 15 wins, a 2.01 GAA and .922 save % this season in 23 games. The 1982 Vezina Winner is know for his solid positioning and mental toughness. In his 3rd season as a Blue, he has a 77-59-15 record with a 2.55 GAA, a .916 save % with 15 SO's in 151 games.

LD Jan Spousta. The 30 year old had 3 goals and 10 points in 29 games this season. The 1982 All-Star has stamina to log long minutes and balances offense with defense. In 193 NHL games, all with the Blues he has 29 goals, 64 assists for 93 points with 143 PIMs and a -27 rating.

LW Cole Rempel. The 21 year old Rempel has 14 goals and 26 points in 29 games this year. The 1982 Calder Trophy winner is a slick stick-checker and drives goalies crazy with his crease presence. In his 2nd year as a Blue, he has 45 goals, 42 assists for 87 points with 58 PIMs and a +22 rating. St Louis picked Rempel 123rd overall in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft when he was done his junior career with the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL.

Montreal sends G Mike Blackshear between the pipes, he has 13 wins in 25 starts with a .880 save %. The Blues send in Antonio Rios and his 15 wins and .922 save %.

St Louis opens the scoring at 10:36 when LW Cole Rempel gets his 15th of the year on the PP. Thats how the period ends with the Blues out shooting Montreal 12 to 10.

St Louis makes it 2-0 at 3:09 of the 2nd with RW Petr Hunka's 6th goal of the year. After 2 periods, the Blues are now out shooting Montreal 23 to 20. St Louis is 1 for 2 on the PP and Montreal has yet to have a PP.

Montreal closes the gap at 7:27 of the 2nd period when C Dave Wright collects his 14th goal of the year. RW Petr Hunka gets his 2nd of the game at 9:53 and St Louis now lead 3-1. Montreal gets one back at 12:01 when RW Al Ladd gets his 9th. Montreal will be short handed as LW Jiri Bohm gets 2 for roughing at 12:14. It didn't take long, but St Louis gets the PP goal at 12:28 when RW Cliff Nicks gets his 8th. Montreal gets an opportunity on the PP at 15:49. They get 1 shot, but are starting to run out of time.

St Louis Blues RW Petr Hunka is named the 1st star with his 2 goals. The 20 year old now has 7 goals and 13 points in 26 games. Hunka is in his rookie season with the Blues, he was signed undrafted by the Blues in July of 1982. Hunka played 2 years with the Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL getting 147 points in 136 games over those 2 years.
