Anyone know how to prevent auto releases when there's an age limit?
In my minors, I have age limits for each level. for example, for U20 anyone under 20 at the start of the season is eligible. If they turn 20 midseason, they are still able to play in the league. If they get promoted though, they cannot return to the U20 league. This works pretty well except for one major problem. At the conclusion of the playoffs, anyone aged 20 gets released automatically. I know what you're thinking. "Well, why don't you just promote them before the playoffs ends?" It's easily forgettable and also doesn't work well with online leagues. A player could also have his 20th birthday during the playoffs. If the playoffs end before the sim does, that GM is screwed.
My suggestion is don't auto release anyone. Set it up to where the AI places them in either the next level up or on the DFA list. This would also solve the issue regarding historical minors releasing players when losing affiliation.
I really hope this gets looked at. I'm currently forced to remove the age limits every year before the MiL regular season ends. It's tedious and it also open the doors for older players to affect the last few games and playoffs.
