From 1980-2008 the Denver Miners would only make the playoffs 4 times. In 2007 Matthew Gonzalez would purchase the team. Matthew became a die hard fan of the miners when they were established in 1980. Matthew, ironically would makes his fortune on some land he owned. It turned out it had one of the largest deposit of gold in the state of Colorado. Throughout these years as well, Matthew was a loyal Miners fan. When the team was up for sale, Matthew purchased it. His loyalty and passion for the Denver Miners have payed off. Since 2009 the Miners have not missed the playoffs and have won two World Series.
