I was just about to say I wasn't seeing this behavior in the online league I run (we have a 22yo age limit for one of our rookie leagues) but upon further review we actually do have this issue. A handful of players were released. Why I didn't notice this is that players that turned 23 immediately after the end of the playoffs were not released so I was seeing 23yo players in the league.

So yes, this is something I'd like to see fixed. Either leave them there and not let the next season start with them there, automatically promote them to the next league up or put them on DFA to be managed by the GM.

edit: I have posted this in the bug forum to hopefully be fixed in v18
