Arnold Umbach 1964

Lots of him in black and white (see below, from an Atlanta team-issued photo from 1966), but most memorable for sharing a rookie card with Herb Hippauf (what could get the attention of a seven-year old faster than a baseball card featuring Hippauf and Umbach).

But leave it to Dexter to grab him after the Braves dealt him to the Astros in the off-season of 1966-67. Umbach quit early in 1968 and finished up his degree at Auburn, and went into the record books with one career win - in his first start (1964) and saved for him by Warren Spahn.

And, yes, I've seen two black-and-white images of Umbach in Houston's camp at Cocoa, Florida, and in each he's also wearing what appear to be glasses held together by athletic tape.
