[Chickazoola]

I've located a woodcut of John Brown, who pitched for the 1897 Brooklyn Bridegrooms. He was pitching for the independent Wilmington club in 1903 when his image appeared in the October 10, 1903 Wilmington Evening News. Given the common name, I used the brief bio printed with the image to confirm that I had the right man. The bio mentioned he was from Philadelphia and was recently married. Brown lived and worked in Philadelphia his whole life and was married in 1903 to Catherine Duffy, which matches up with the bio. I also couldn't find any other John Brown's pitching in the area, so I strongly believe this is him, despite no record of him playing in 1901 or 1902 (his last year of pro ball was 1900, though based on my research, he also played for Camden in 1904). I've attached the image and his death notice as confirmation that this is right man.
