What they now call Golden Days era (1950-1969) is virtually identical to the Golden Years era of 1947 to 1972. That group had been up for election in December 2017 under the old system, but now under the reorganization they don't come up for election until December 2020, six years since their last election.
Maury Wills, among the oldest of the living candidates at the December 2014 election is due to be 88 when that next election comes around. Every other candidate (now in their 70s - Kaat, Oliva, Tiant etc.) will be in their 80s by the time of the next election (If still alive). The only exception will be Richie 'Dick' Allen who was born in 1942 and is due to turn 78 in 2020. No other group has been delayed and hurt as much by the HOFs era reorganization.
Two candidates who were alive at the time of the December 2014 election have since passed away (Billy Pierce and Minnie Minoso).
