Issued in Tuesday's Vault offerings are a pair of photos picturing Jeff Sellers with the Reds. He was certainly in their plans when he attended training camp with them in 1989, but he made only one start for Class AAA Nashville when he was diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff that caused him to missed the next two seasons.
In 1991, when he was finally able to pitch again, he'd been released by the Reds and signed with the Yankees. But he was only able to make six appearances in the minors that season. Sellers entire major league career (1985-88) wound up being with his original team, the Red Sox.
