Washington Capitals (33-33-7) at Montreal Canadiens (43-27-4)

The Canadiens are at home to play the Capitals. The teams have met twice which each team winning on the road. Montreal is in 1st in the Atlantic with 90 points, 2 points ahead of the Bruins and with a game in hand. Washington is in 6th in the Metropolitan with 73 points, 8 points behind the Rangers that hold the 3rd seed.

Montreal has been fortunate to have one of the best goalies in the NHL in 29 year old Wilf Nestor. Nestor is signed until the end of the 1986-87 season so they will enjoy great goaltending for a while. Nestor has many strengths but he has a excellent glove and blocker.
