I'd like to add a few words of background about the Dressed to the Nines website. First, there is a statement on the site's FAQ page that "not every uniform worn during a given year is necessarily shown in the database." The objective is to show the primary uniform(s) worn by the club during the given season. See the following webpage:

National Baseball Hall of Fame - Dressed to the Nines - Uniform Database

Second, most of the database was developed by Marc Okkonen and was originally published in book form as BASEBALL UNIFORMS OF THE 20TH CENTURY. The website indicates that Marc's content runs up through 1993, and the years since then have been updated by Major League Baseball. I must have an earlier copy of his book, because my copy only shows uniforms through the year 1991. At any rate, the point I'd like to make here is that Marc did all this uniform research in the era prior to the availability of Internet. So when we find uniform variations today which are not reflected in the database, we are able to make use of images which are available to us through Internet which were not available to him. His was a remarkable piece of work, and it has withstood the impact of time well. The website indicates that there have been some updates to his section of the database, but I would guess that there have not been many. The dust jacket of the book had a quote from Sports Illustrated which said: "No one in the world knows more about baseball uniforms than Marc Okkonen."

As with any database, there will continue to be corrections as time moves ahead.
