ST PETERSBURG-The Parrots have won an unprecedented 4th league championship in 8 seasons. After a dominating 105-57 regular season, the Parrots dropped the Ocoee Orcas in 6 games.

Ocoee was making its 1st ever postseason appearance. Where is Ocoee? It's a suburb west of Orlando.

Jody Anderson, of St. Pete, won his 1st ever POTY Award. Anderson finished with a 24-11 record and a 2.01 ERA. Anderson has always been in the conversation for the award, but finally was able to wrestle it away from Tony Gaston this season.

The MVP of the league went to young LF Willie "Sooner" Topete from Ocoee. Topete, the former #1 draft pick from 1913, displayed his talents on the field to the tune of a .352 AVG (batting title), and a league record 228 hits. It was Topete's 2nd league batting title.
