If all players played to their capabilities, Cleveland would get win number ten on the season.

The Rangers come out with the bats in the first. Dave Nelson gets the scoring started with an RBI single. Alas, the Rangers would ground into a double play in each of the first three innings.

Meanwhile, Rich Hand did not give up a hit in the first three innings.

After three: Texas 1 Cleveland 0.

Nettles tied the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth.

Frank Howard looked as if he would give the Rangers the lead back with an RBI single in the sixth but Biittner was thrown out at home.

After six: Texas 1 Cleveland 1.

Chambliss ran his hit streak to 14 games as the Indians loaded the bases with nobody out in the seventh.

And failed to score!

Don Mincher came in to pinch hit for the pitcher to lead off the top of the eighth and hit his first home run of the season to give the Rangers the lead back. Dave Nelson added an RBI single as did Frank Howard.

Horacio Pina was brought in in the bottom of the eighth to try to protect a three run lead. And he is able to do that this time.

Final score: Texas 4 Cleveland 1.
