There were only 20 images released from the Vault on Thursday, all in Folder KH, but there were some genuine oddities among them.
Ernie Camacho played for six major league teams, but the Milwaukee Brewers were not among them. He was with the Brewers in the spring of 1983, then went to AAA Vancouver for all of 11 games (0-2, 6.85) before being released. But he was picked up by Cleveland, went 4-0, 1.35 with 4 saves for Charleston, and was called up before the season ended. He would spend the next four seasons with the Indians.
An even bigger "Huh?" is 107-108, a Kansas City Royal seemingly in a second-baseman throwing pose. It actually is pitcher Dick Calmus, whose career was officially over in 1968. But he was in the first Royals camp and was slated to be part of a veteran rotation in Class AAA Omaha. But he abruptly retired at the start of the 1969 season without ever appearing in a game. With the Dodgers, Calmus was the youngest pitcher to have started for them until Urias came along 50 years later.
119-120 is Bob Caffrey, a member of Team USA in 1984, but who never made it past AA for the Montreal Expos, who drafted him in the first round (13th overall) in 1984 out of Cal State-Fullerton.
