Now THAT is a name I have NOT heard in almost 35 years!
Being from the Boston area, it wasn't uncommon for me and some friends to drive about a little over an hour to watch the PawSox play, particularly if the Red Sox were on the road and the game wasn't televised/rained out/late night from the west coast. A few times, Bosox played a day game and the Pawsox were at night. That was our own double header.
For every Wade Boggs, Rich Gedman and Fred Lynn, there was a Gino Gentile..and as long as he wore a Red sox jersey, be it a Boston or Pawtucket one...he was one of us.
