Otis brought in the first run of the game in the top of the first with a groundout RBI. Mayberry followed up with a solo home run.
Gogolewski struck out Patek in the top of the second for his 100th K of the season.
In the top of the third, Lovitto threw Otis out at home as the KC baserunner was trying to score from second on a single by Mayberry.
In the bottom of the third, Burroughs tied the game with a 2-run homer.
After three: Kansas City 2 Texas 2.
In the bottom of the fourth, Ford hit his first home run of the season, a solo shot to give Texas the lead.
In the top of the fifth, Mayberry tied things back up with his second solo home run of the game. That brought Mayberry's season RBI total to 70.
With a runner on first and two out in the top of the sixth, Paul Lindblad replaced Gogolewski on the mound and got the final out.
After six: Kansas City 3 Texas 3.
Horacio Pina took the mound for the Rangers in the eighth.
In the bottom of the eighth, Tom Burgmeier took the mound for the Royals. Harris gave the Rangers the lead back with a sacrifice fly.
Pina then got the 1-2-3 ninth to end the Rangers 4-game losing streak.

Two Rangers errors helped the Royals load the bases with one out in the top of the second. But Bosman worked his way out of the jam without allowing a run.
Roger Nelson struck out Maddox to end the second and record his 80th K of the season.

Schaal ended the scoreless tie with a leadoff home run in the top of the seventh. It was Schaal's 40th RBI on the season.
In the top of the ninth, Jim Wohlford brought in a pair with a single that looked like it put the game away.
Tom Burgmeier came on to pitch the ninth for the Royals and got the save.
