Leo Garcia Reds 1987-1988

Leo Garcia was a very obscure outfielder with the Reds during the Pete Rose betting-against-himself era. Originally the property of the White Sox, Garcia came to the Reds in the 1982 deal which sent a burnt-out Jim Kern to Chicago. His numbers in the low minors were not very impressive at all, but Garcia improved once he reached AAA and he had a string of successful seasons for Wichita, Denver, and Nashville, with four straight years of .700 or better OPS. Garcia did not have home run power, but he was a fairly good center fielder who got on base some and he had decent SB percentages. His best season came in 1987, and he got into 54 games with the Reds in 87 and 88. Rose used him mostly as a defensive sub and pinch runner though, so he accumulated only 58 ABs in his two major league seasons. I have seen Garcia in black and white before on a Reds site, but this is the first color image I have come across, courtesy of ebay seller signatures4u!
