MIDWAY NIPS ARLON AGAIN
Great pitching and clutch hitting prevailed again for the second straight day at Joe Wolf Stadium in Midway, where the current Pro Cup holders nipped tough Arlon 3-1... Midway had to overcome some fine pitching by Arlon starter J. C. Arlon sent in its closer Matt Blair, but he couldn't put out the fire... 1B Ted Merritt (.000) knotted it up with a deep sac fly, 3B Jamey Southwick (.500) put Midway in front 2-1 with a double and 2B Tom Goodnight (.429) completed the scoring with an RBI single... the victory went to Doogie Higgins (11-4/2.58), who tossed two runless innings in the eighth and ninth...
