Canadian GP: Race Ticker
motorsport-live.com September 25th, 2016
It is sunny, it is a great day for racing and it is the Canadian Grand Prix from the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.
Harry Chapman took pole yesterday as casually as only he could do, and he will start from the front row with
Aki Lipponen besides him.
Lap 1:
The front runners are all on the ultrasoft compound and looking to work themselves a gap before their first pit stop on this tyre hungry race, so some of the soft tyre drivers could make a jump forward.
Chapman in front is ready and so is the rest of the grid...
The red lights are on... one.. two... three... four... five...
AND IT'S LIGHTS OUT AND AWAY WE GO!
CHAPMAN HAS SCREWED UP THE START AND FALLS A LONG WAY BACK.
SAARINEN NAILS IT INTO THE BACK STRAIT AND TAKES THREE MORE POSITIONS AND THE LEAD!
WEXLER HAS DISAPPEARED!
Schmidt in the
Van Dort with a great start and he takes second place on the SOFT trye.
Chapman put the pedal to the metal in the final sector and is up to fourth but
Wexler is NINTH!
