Hey boss,
As last year, I hope you enjoyed the weekend while we were out testing in Tondela. Good thing to say, the car is looking way better than 2016 and we are all very happy with the progress we made from last season. So, let me sum up the testing, right.
The Chassis: Lotus Type 202
The Type 202 is a significant upgrade over the old 201 already. Fitting to our projections, we made a step forward in tyre wear, tyre heating and thanks to the breakthrough by our friends at the Polymat Group when it comes to chassis materials, the improvabiliy is better than last season, which means we can easily add performance to the car.
As expected, the reliability is not as good as 2016, but we are still looking handy and can expect to bring the car home in Qatar AND add some performance via the good old weight stripping...
Now, to performance:
Engine: 6th
The new 2017 spec engine seems better than
Kitano,
Espirit,
Rezzato Corsa and
Panther in that order. Nice work, and we can improve that easily thanks to the support of
Ferrari.
Acceleration: 7th, no change.
Brakes: 7th, no change.
Front Wing: 9th
We jumped the
Van Dort with the new front wing, but we are still ways away from the average.
Suspension: 7th
We are leaving,
Vélan,
Espirit and
Rezzato Corsa in the dust here...
Rear Wing: 9th
Only the
Espirit rear wing is worse.
Overall: 8th
We jumped
Vélan and are ahead of
Espirit GP on raw pace, time to add to that!
Your call of what to develop first!
Financials:
Targeting zero at the end of the season, we have $28.5M available for development, and that is without additional sponsorship money on upfront payments and race bonus payouts. Our marketability is up to 78% and we should be able to still attact 4* sponsors and four of our six deals will run out after the next two races... I think we should be safe in financial terms.
HQ:
The new factory wing should be done by the start of July and I agree with the idea of building the tour center to generate additional income. That one will be profitable by the end of 2018, just when we have to renegotiate alot of contracts.
11 days till the Qatar GP, lets get going.
