And the King is back on the throne as Harry Chapman wins for the first time in 2017. He always had the raw pace today and after a little scare by Zoe Sharp early, and a little scare by Nikolai Surikov later in the race, he grabbed the lead in spectacular fashion.

"I saw the Panther in the distance, and I just went for it, put the pedal to the metal, and made up good ground," he said about the start of his third stint. That was the fastest lap, 1:18.530, and he caught Surikov at the end of the lap, gaining 4.9 seconds, and took him easily next lap.

Recovery Drives:
For Dieter Wexler, he knew it won't be his third win when his car touched the grass on the outside of turn one. "I wanted to make a move on Chapman and the inside was busy with the Kitano parked there, so I went to the outside... Chapman squeezed me a bit, but it was mostly my mistake," Wexler said after the race.

He fell down to ninth and had to fight back to fourth ultimately. Similar story for Nina Holtz, as the Steinmann signature move, queuing cars in the pit lane, saw her chance of challenging for a win end in the pits... again.

She was not available for comment.

Home Team Starts Quick, Falters Later
"Leading the race felt great, but we somehow lost serious ground later in the race and everything was going backwards for me," explained Zoe Sharp, driver for Japan's pride, Kitano Sports-Honda.

The Australian led the race early by putting in a amazing start and first corner, but eventually had to yield to both Steinmann cars, and eventually finished P10, one point, but not exactly what the team hoped for.

One-Stop Success:
Once again, the one-stop strategy was key for points finishes as Nikolai Surikov in the Panther and Iker Vidal in the Lotus only stopped once and for great effect, landing P2 and P8 and way ahead of their raw speed.

"It's all about execution," Dan Martinson of Lotus Racing explained. "You have to exploit the clear track in front of you when you can, and try to do the maximum in the early going without hurting the tyres."
