pretty sure winning is a much stronger correlation to finacnial success than anythign else.
there is a whole gamut of fan types - - hardcore to fair-weather, for a lack of a better word. the hardcore people are the ones into loyalty and love that bench player who really sucks at baseball when viewed with untainted eyes. the fair-weather, and most likely the bulk, are not that way.
they like the team when they are "cool" not when they are junky. they don't care about loyalty.. .it's mostly superficial. their money adds up just like the hardcore fans and there are way more of them too.
