Post-Race Analysis: 2017 South African GP(7/16)
That was a salvage operation. We screwed up Vidal's race all by ourselves by telling him to push the ultra soft tyre in his in lap... that was a flat out stupid mistake and cost us a lot of time that lap, and a lot of time as we came out behind a number of soft runners that were on their first stint... and overtaking is rather hard here unless you have a big advantage. That cost us another eighth, maybe even seventh place finish.
As for Jeremy, he drove a sensible race. The soft trye did not last as long as we hoped it would, and we had to pit him a lot more than expected, but he made ends meet and overtook some drivers late... better than finishing last every race.
Development Report:
We are very excited for the new factory upgrade and 10 new engineers. That should definitely help us pushing our parts over the edge and gets us closer to the ideal scenario to FINALLY roll out two rather equal cars once Alex Barbosa and Jeremy get along... upgrading the factory again, you ask? $35M. Not going to happen soon...
With our home Grand Prix coming up in two weeks time, little will be done to the cars, but we hope to get the 2017 top engine ready for Iker's car...
